Soldiers with the Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Special Reaction Team (SRT) advance in tactical formation during a training exercise.

The SRT is an element of the 728th Military Police Battalion, 8th Military Police Brigade.

Made up of specially-trained and selected Military Policemen, the Special Reaction team is an Army base's in-house SWAT team.

As shown here, the SRT operators are armed with M4 carbines, fitted here with blank rounds and blank firing adapters on the carbines' muzzle breaks.

They also carry M9a1 9mm pistols either as backups for their carbines or to be wielded while employing a ballistic shield or carrying a battering ram.

12-guage shotguns or MP5 9mm sub machine guns may also be employed.

They wear fire-retardant overalls and hoods, ACH helmets, level IIIA ballistic vest with front/back compartments for ceramic armor plates and kevlar gloves.
