Members of a United States Coast Guard (USCG) Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT), enter and clear a room during close quarters combat (CQC) training.

Maritime Security Response Teams specialize in Maritime Counterterrorism and on standby to respond to terrorism or criminal acts againts maritime targets such as gas/oil platforms, shipping, passenger ferries and port facilities.

The Direct Action Section (DAS) of an MSRT are the tip of the MSRT spear, tasked with boarding and retaking a maritime objective.

MSRT DAS operators undergo extensive CQC training.
