EST's are the U.S. Air Force's SWAT (Special Weapons & Tactics) teams.
An EST consists of specially-selected, trained and equipped Security Forces (SF) personnel.
Their role is to carry out security operations at U.S.A.F. bases that are outside of the scope of regular Security Forces.
As with civilian SWAT teams, these Air Force tactical teams train to resolve crisis situations with precise application of both lethal and non-lethal force and to minimise loss of life and injury to all personnel.
