is a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team that carries out law enforcement operations that are outside the scope of regular units.
The Santa Clara County S.
E.
R.
T.
comprises of a number of elements.
These include 2 entry teams (Red and Blue) and a sniper/observer team (Sierra Team).
The S.
E.
R.
T.
's Tactical Commander controls the team from a Tactical Command Post (Delta Team).
The S.
E.
R.
T.
is also supported by a medical unit (Gold Team).
A Team Commander is in overall charge of the S.
E.
R.
T.
and the Crisis Negotiations Team (C.
N.
T.
).
