A Police Officer with Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) Tactical Response Team (TRT) moves towards the bridge of USNS Gilliland during a training mission.
The Maryland NRP Tactical Response Team is a special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team that specialises in woodland and maritime tactical operations.
The TRT is part of Maryland NRP's Special Operations Division which also includes a K-9 unit, an underwater operations unit, criminal investigations unit and search support units.
The Tactical Response Team is capable of carrying out a number of specialist missions:
- Maritime tactical response
- Tactical woodland patrol
- Tactical tracking /search
- Surveillance and reconnaissance
- Boat certification in vessel operations
- Search and rescue
- Evidence Search
- Warrant service
- Special events
