The 2nd MOSB is on of 3 such Battalions within the Marine Special Operations Regiment (MSOR), a component of Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC).
MSOBs field 14-man Marine Special Operations Teams (MSOTs) - highly-trained Marines tasked with a range of special operations missions such as foreign internal defence, unoncentional warfare, direct action and special reconnaissance.
