Critical Skills Operators (CSOs) with 3rd Marine Special Operations Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command, make an explosive entry through a mock wall during dynamic entry training.

Select CSOs attend the MARSOF Dynamic Entry Level II (MEDEL2), a 3-week training course held at the Marine Special Operations School.

During the course, CSO Marines will learn to overcome obstacles such as walls, fences and doors via a range of breaching methods including mechanical (using tools to saw, pry or hammer), ballistic (shotguns), thermal (using torches to cut through metal) and explosive (as shown above).

CSOs will regularly undergo refresher training in order to maintain the skills acquired during the Dynamic entry course.
