The MSOAG was a branch of MARSOC that specialized in foreign internal defense operations.
The MSOAG has since been reorganized as the 3rd Marine Special Operations Battalion with a more general remit.
The 3d MSOB is capable carrying out direct action, special reconnaissance, unconventional warfare and foreign internal defence operations.
