A Marine from the Marine Special Operations Advisor Group (MSOAG) advises a Philippine soldier. MSOAG specialize in training foreign military forces, a role previously carried out by units such as U.S. Army Special Forces. Part of the reason for setting up MSOAG was to free up other SOF units for more direct combat operations.
