Navy SEAL trainees practice room entry and clearing techniques.

Close Quarters Battle (CQB) is a vital part of SEAL training.

Navy SEALs are a component of United States Naval Special Warfare Command.

They specialise in direct action raids, special reconnaissance and counter terrorism operations.

SEAL training takes over a year and includes a 24-week Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL school (BUD/S) and a 28-week SEAL Qualification Training (SQT).

Once assigned to a SEAL Platoon, SEALs undergo SEAL Troop (TRP) Training.
