3rd Special Forces Group - Room Clearing

U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers assigned to Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) practise room-clearing techniques.

Green Berets regularly train in close quarters battle and urban combat methods.

Each Special Forces Group (SFG) runs a 15-day Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC) training course which prepares 12-man ODAs for operations in hostile urban envirnments.

Green Berets assigned to their SFG's CIF Company undergo extensive training in advanced CQB and other direct action skills.

The 3rd Special Forces Group is assigned to the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) area of responsibility (AOR).

Despite this assignment, the 3rd SFG has carried out numerous operations in Afghanistan.
