Mounted ODA - Special Forces

Special Forces ODAs that specialize in the use of GMVs are known as mounted teams. On long range operations, mounted ODAs typically operate in convoys of 4 GMVs, with 3 Green Berets per vehicle. There is at least one mounted ODA in each Battalion within a Special Forces Group.

GMVs are a version of the HMMWV designed for special operations forces. Special Forces use the GMV-S variant. They feature a flat bed at the rear that can accomodate extra passengers (as shown here) or additional stores, ammunition etc when operating on extended patrols.
