CIF Company

Green Berets with a Special Forces CIF Company pictured during Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance, Target Analysis, and Exploitation Techniques Course, (SFARTAETC).

Each Special Forces Group (SFG) includes one CIF (Commander's In-Extremis Force) Company.

Unlike other Special Forces elements which focus on the Unconventional Warfare mission, the CIF Companies are specially trained and resourced for Direct Action Missions.

Special Forces CIF Companies have carried out direct action missions in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Horn Of Africa.

CIF Companies undergo more intense CQB training than other SF elements.

The SFARTAETC course is designed to train the CIF companies in all the skills their Direct Action mission requires.
