7th Special Forces Group - Mounted Team

Special Forces soldiers of the 7th Special Forces Group patrol through Helmand Province, Afghanistan in a ground mobility vehicle (GMV), armed with a M2 .50 cal machine gun, 2007. Each Battalion within a Special Forces Group features at least one mounted team. A 12-man mobility / mounted ODA specializes in GMV operations, including long range / extended deployments. A mounted ODA will typically comprise of 4 GMVs, each crewed by 3 Green Berets.
