Special Forces - Arctic Warfare

A Special Forces soldier with the 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) steadies his M4a1 carbine witha pair of crossed skies during a training exercise. Depending on thei assigned area of operation, Green Berets may be called on to operate in all climates including arctic, desert and jungle conditions. Cold weather training takes place at special schools such as the Special Forces Advanced Mountain Operations School in Colorado where Green Berets learn a range of techniques including cross-country skinning, skijoring with a snowmobile and learning to shoot on skis and snowshoes.
