United States Army Special Forces soldiers scan for threats while protecting a checkpoint contruction operation in Tagab, Afghanistan, Nov.

2010.

The Special Forces are stationed in the flat-bed area of a vehicle.

The vehicle's turret, fitted with a minigun and M240 machine gun, can be seen behind them.

Note the Peltor COMTAC II headsets/ear protectors worn over the Green Beret's caps.

The red skull patch on the arm of the right-most soldier is an Afghan Commando patch.

Such patches are often worn by U.S. Special Forces, especially when having worked with and mentored the units represented.
