A Special Forces soldier provides covering fire from behind a vehicle while another operator moves forward during a close quarters battle (CQB) demonstration.
The Special Forces soldiers are armed with M4 CQBR 5.56mm x 45mm carbines configured to SOPMOD Block II standards - Daniel Defense RIS II rail system, EOTech 553 Holographic Sight, Insight Technology AN/PEQ-15 or ATIPAL IR Laser and Insight Technology M3X Flashlight Illuminator.
The Special Forces are part of U.S. Army Special Operations Command (Airborne) (USASOC(A)).
Also known as the 'Green Berets', Special Forces carry out a range of special operations missions, including unconventional warfare and foreign internal defense.
