Special Operations Task Force - South East, a HQ within Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A), was established by the 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) (4th Bn. 3rd SFG (A)) in August 2010. SOTF-SE covers Uruzgan, Daykundi and Zabul provinces in Afghanistan. The 4th Battalion of the 3rd SFG (A) was activated in 2009.
