A USAF MC-130H Combat Talon II operated by the 15th Special Operations Squadron comes into land on an airstrip set up by Special Tactics Training Squadron students.

MC-130 pilots may be required to land their aircraft on ad hoc, natural surface air strips such as flat desert beds in order to insert, extract or resupply special operations forces on the ground.

Such landing sites will typically have been surveyed and marked out by USAF Special Tactics Combat Controllers (CCTs).
