Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team - Training

fleet antiterrorism secuirty team - training
U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Joan E. Kretschmer/Released

Marines assigned to the 1st Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST), 3rd Platoon, prepare to enter a building during training in Japan.

The Marines are using simunition in their weapons.

Simunition fires a non-lethal paint round at high velocity.

Using simunition adds to the realism of the training.

People don't like being shot with simunition, it hurts, so they tend to move more quickly between cover, giving the exercise a tempo close to the real thing.
