This photo was taken in 2005 when the above Marines would have been with the 26th MEU(SOC)'s Maritime Special Purpose Force (MSPF) Force Recon Platoon, acting as the MSPF's direct action element.

The MSPF concept has since been superceded by the Maritime Raid Force (MRF).
