Force Recon Radio Operator An assistant radio operator with the Force Reconnaissance Platoon of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's (31st MEU) Maritime Raid Force (MRF) watches his sector during a long range MRF training mission. A typical Reconnaissance Team includes 2 radio operators with their own radio to ensure that their intelligence reports can be sent back to to base.
Force Recon Platoons typically act as the direct action / assault element of the MRF. Force Recon Marines maintain a high level of proficency in direct action techniques such as CQB and demolitions. sourced from public domain | U.S. DoD photo by Lance Cpl. Michael Oxton
