Maritime Raid Force - 11th MEU

Members of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU) Maritime Raid Force (MRF) board a vessel during counter-terrorism and counter-piracy training.

A Maritime Raid Force is its MEU's special operations group. It typically comprises of an assault element from the MEU's Force Recon Platoon (FRP), a security element of Marines from the Battalion Landing Team (BLT), a reconnaissance/surveillance element from the Amphibious Recon Platoon (ARP) plus assorted support elements such as Radio Reconnaissance Teams, intelligence, communications and an HQ element.
