A Marine with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit's (MEU) Maritime Raid Force (MRF) provides security during maritime interoperability training, Jan 2015.

The Marine is wearing a MICH 2000 helmet with AN/PVS-14 night vision monocle mounted on a norotos shroud.

Also mounted on the helmet is a Streamlight Sidewinder Tactical Flashlight.

The Marine is wearing a tan CWU-27/P Nomex Flight Suit under a Load Bearing Vest (LBV).

Note the Memphis Bobcat leather welding gloves looped over the Force Recon operator's wrists.

The operator's M4a1 5.56mm x 45mm carbine is fitted with a AN/PEQ-15 Advanced Target Pointer / Illuminator / Aiming Laser, SU-231A/PEQ holographic sight, and flip-to-side (FTS) magnifier.

The 15th MEU is based at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California and is one of 7 MEUs fielded by the United States Marine Corps (USMC).
