A Marine Scout Sniper from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (MEU(SOC)) waits at Kandahar International Airport, Afghanistan, with his M82A1 .50 cal sniper rifle. The M82A1 is a long-range anti-material rifle that can disable a range of static targets including armored vehicles and aircraft as well as being devestating against human targets. Note this sniper is also carrying a M16 5.56mm rifle.
