RG-31 - Special Forces Members of Special Forces ODA Team 1236 pictured with a RG-31 Mk5A1S Nyala vehicle in Afghanistan. The RG-31 is a class 1 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) in use with US Special Operations Command (US SOCOM) units such as Army Special Forces. The RG-31 looks similar to, but is much lighter than, the RG-33 MRAP vehicle, also used by SOCOM units. Both the RG-31 and RG-33 are based on the South-African-designed Mamba APC.
