SOCOM MK 13 Mod 5 Sniper Rifle

The SOCOM MK 13 is a bolt-action sniper rifle in use with the US Navy SEALs and other special operations units. The rifle is based on the Remington 700 long action, fires .300 Winchester Magnum (WinMag) rounds and is assembled from parts at NSWC Crane.

The SOCOM MK 13 features a Lilja precision barrel which can be fitted with a Knight’s Armament MK11 suppressor. The most recent Mod 5 variant of the MK 13 features the Accuracy International Chassis System (AICS) which causes the rifle to resemble the AI AWM rifle. A 3-sided Remington Modular Accessory Rail System (MARS) allows for the mounting of the day and night optics atop the rifle as well as 1913 Picatinny compatible accessories on each side. The MK 13 also features a a folding bipod.

The MK 13 can reach out and touch targets much further than either the MK 11 or MK 12 semi-automatic rifles also employed by SOCOM snipers.
