The Rangers are weilding M4a1 carbines (SOPMOd Block II), with PEQ-15 pointer/illumination devices and SU-231 PEQ holographic sights fitted.
The foremost Ranger is wearing a MICH helmet and Peltor ear defender / headset linked to a AN/PRC-148 Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio (MBITR) radio set.
The 1st Ranger Battalion is based at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia and has carried out special operations in conflicts around the world.
