The Rangers are a U.S. Army Special Operations (Airborne) special operations unit.
They are a rapidly-deployable light infantry formation that are capable of carrying out direct action raids, airfield seizure, special reconnaissance, personnel recovery and sensitive site exploitation.
They are a flexible force that can carry out squad size up to regimental size operations.
