Police Officers with Southern Pines Police Department's Special Response Team (SRT) approach a building during a hostage rescue exercise with other North Carolina law enforcement tactical teams and Fort Bragg's Special Reaction Team.

The M4 Commando is a sub-compact variant of the 5.56mmx45mm M4 Carbine, which has a 11.

5 inch barrel fitted.

It is commonly employed by Police tactical units due to its size and firepower.



The Special Response Team (SRT) is a specialized SWAT team within Southern Pines PD's Patrol Division.

Like other SWAT-style teams, it is comprised of specially-trained Police Officers who are tasked with high risk special operations such as drug busts and hostage rescue.

The SRT is organized into an entry team and a sniper team.
