Marines assigned to Radio Reconnaissance Platoon, 1st Radio Battalion, helocast from the rear ramp of a USMC CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter into the water as part of the Radio Reconnaissance Indoctrination Program.

Radio Reconnaissance Platoons typically deploy as 6-man Radio Reconnaissance Teams (RRTs).

These elite Marines provide tactical SIGINT (signals intelligence) for their assigned Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).

Radio Reconnaissance Teams also embed in the MEU's Maritime Raid Force (MRF), the MEU's in-house special operations formation.
