Force Reconnaissance Platoon - VBSS

The 31st MEU's Force Recon Platoon (FRP) conduct visit, board, search, seizure (VBSS) training aboard the USNS Matthew C. Perry. The FRP fast-ropes onto the ship's deck from a CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter before securing the vessel, taking any hostiles into custody. It's vital that the FRP maintains the skills required for VBSS and other maritime interdiction operations, especially in the face of continuing piracy in hotpsots such as the Horn Of Africa.
