Navy SEAL operators advance with their weapons shouldered and at the ready during a combat search and rescue (CSAR) exercise, 2002.

Navy SEALs may be called on to rescue downed pilots and so train accordingly.

The SEALs are wearing Desert Camouflage Uniforms (DCU) and Protec ballistic helmets.

The SEAL on the left is armed with a M4a1 carbine fitted with a Trijicon ACOG scope.

His SEAL buddy is armed with a M60E4 belt-fed machine gun.
